Yet another one... this time one full body sketch. It's a pity I can't show it somewhat slower, I'm trying to find a way to fix that!

  • That kinda looks like Fred Milton's Donald. Is that who you're influenced by?

  • I'm not really influenced by one artist, but I do like long beaks! I really love the old stories Milton did with Jippes, I read those very often. Other influences (=artists I like) are Mau Heymans, Daniel Branca, William van Horn and ofcourse Carl Barks.

I'm not that fond of the recent art style Daan Jippes and Fred Milton are using, but the stories from the 70s are about the best thing ever!

  • I'm not really a Duck scholar, though I know about 5000 times more about Barks and the Duck world than most of us Americans (Barks is an almost completely unknown name here, ironically.) And from what I hear, many of you guys in The Netherlands and Scandanavia know more than anybody anywhere!

I tend to like the long beaks, meself, (though I like a shorter beak on Daisy.) That's one of the reasons I like Barks' earlier work much better than his later stuff (visually).

  • By the way, I've been curious for a long time---how do you pronounce "Daan Jippes"?

  • Hm, let's see, in English that would be 'Dhaan Yip-pes'. Or something. In Dutch the J is pronounced as a Y, we would write the English J as 'dj'. (unless the J is used in the IJ ofcourse, but lets not get too precise)

  • The names of the artists aren't really well known in the Netherlands because they aren't mentioned in the magazines. But the people who make them are nearly all Barks-fans. The album series 'The Best Stories of Donald Duck' is Barks-only. And you should see the new school-agenda! Nearly all images were taken from 'Wer ist Carl Barks'. Not very surprising since the one who drew the cover told me I had to buy that book. It's awesome how a Disney agenda has hot women drawn by Barks in it!

  • Excellent!

I think thats the hardest way to draw Donald Duck. Like when u see him from the side.

    Sorry bad english lol. :D

  • ...and I love Vicar by the way ;)

  • I love, LOVE this style. It's better then Milton and it's really going the Barks way.

It's actually very Vicar, now I think of it...!

  • how do u clear the lines that not needed and the rest draw is still black???

  • yes, obviously, but she is also using a digital art PROGRAM as a tool. Not saying she's cheating or letting the computer do all the work. I just wanted to know, is it painter, photoshop, alias, mspaint, whatevs.

  • I draw, too. But your stuff really looks better!

Some guys here are right, it relly looks like Milton. But it looks also a bit like Jack Bradbury, doesn't it?

  • PROGRAM?!?

    She drawed with her hands!

  • you're awesome

  • How long time it´s take it to draw him?

  • Great! you´re awesome.
