  • Republicans are just as bad as Democrats. They both want to take away our freedoms and tax the hell out of us.Niether,Rebublican or Democrat candidates accuses the other of being a Communist.Because, their in this together and thats the deal.

  • Iran hasn't invaded another country in 300 years. They haven't been at war with anyone at all in 80 years except for when Saddam tried to invade them.

And the current Iraqi government is Shi'a and is very friendly with Iran anyway. Iran is not an aggressor state.

  • awesome, just awesome

  • Oops, I meant IraN wanting a piece of the Iraqi north...

  • The French saw it as in their interests to keep the British busy here. They saw it as a quagmire for the British. Iraq is a quagmire for us, now, and I'm sure the Russians and Chinese are happy to see us bogged down there. The Dutch wanted to protect trade relationships with the colonists. I'm sure there are other countries aiding the Iraqi insurgents in order to gain trade advantages later. The Spanish wanted territory, and this is like Iraq wanting some of the Iraqi north. Could happen.

  • "Back in 1776, WE were occupied by the most powerful empire on earth."

and the French, Spanish, and Dutch had nothing to do with American Independence right?

  • the reason for invading was because we thought that iraq had WMDs and that our and the world's saftey was at stake so we ripped apart a government which was a mistake. how can we leave a country that doesnt have a government to rip itself apart. and i think the UN, not just the US, should remove Kim Jong II and no one knows where bin laden is so there is nothing we can do about him

  • Wrong on all counts, my friend.

But my main point is that we have no business deposing dictators. That is not our job.

The job of the US government is defending US citizens on US soil, not liberating people in every tin-pot dictatorship in the world. If deposing Saddam, who was not a threat to us, is OK, then where does it stop? Why didn't we focus on bin Laden or Kim Jong Il? These are actual threats to us. The war is making us less safe, be helping the radicals recruit the less extreme.

  • okay first of all we all know that our founding fathers exagerated in their claims against King George, and second of all they were doing all of these things after war broke out. he did not start randomly executing people like saddam

  • Here's what our Founders claimed in the Declaration of Indep. that George III had done:

"He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty...

He has constrained our fellow Citizens...to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren..."

Sounds just like Saddam to me.

  • king george III taxed us unfairly, that is hardly oppressive and hardly as bad as saddam
