Chris of Detail Werkz applying our project sinister high gloss to a Ferrari f430 Scuderia using the 7424xp.

The porter cable 7424xp is a DA polisher, or random orbit polish that does not induce swirls or scratches when used with proper foam pads and correct speeds. The technique we are showing is called jeweling, where you jewel the polishes into the paint to bring out the depth and clarity of the paint even more. We are also not using waxes, as waxes melt and have a life span of about 20-30 days before needing to be reapplied.

We are using Gloss-It Polishes, or polymer polishes and you can find out more about them at http://www.gloss-it.com or http://www.glossitonline.com

The gloss it polishes do not have glazes or fillers in them, so no worries that you are just filling in the issues and they might reappear at a later time or after a few washes.

  • What speed did you run the porter cable DA for this jewling technique?

  • great job

  • Nice ride there, B :).

  • I think I've crushed that scud on the track, lol.

  • Why would you use a buffing wheel on a 2008 Ferrari? Seems kinda harsh guaranteed to leave swirl marks after wax wears off and 30 days passes by. Just curious no drama just wondering??
