As we live longer and caregiving becomes a bigger issue in the U.S., learn what can be done to help our caregiving community.
@jensartsandcrafts Have you looked into Medicaid and/or Veterans' benefits? These government-funded programs will pay all or a good portion of in home care or an assisted living facility. If you can possibly afford it, hire a good elder law attorney to process the application(s). It will be well worth the money in the long run. You owe it to yourself and your family to take advantage of these programs. God bless you.

I take care of my dad and he is a very hard man to get along with. I suffer from caregiver burnout. He runs myself and three kids to death and I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant. I do feel like I have to do it alone. I also hit brick walls when I try to get help. We can't afford to pay alot for in home help.
