How to Kill a Hockey Game

As many of you know, our sport is being ruined by overzealous referees. Some parts of the "new" NHL have improved, but other areas of the game have suffered.

This video is an example of how officials are trying to pussify the best game in the world.

The only penalty in this video that could possibly be justified is Bertuzzi's high-stick on Ott.

You would've rarely witnessed any of these calls pre-lockout. The end result leads to boring hockey with zero passion and minimal physical play.

I dissagree with you completely. Bertuzzi is a highly skilled player, with grit and passion. If not for that ONE unfortunate move by him which costed Moore his career, people like you wouldn't be calling Bertuzzi a goon.

It's hockey, it's supposed to be rough. Here are some examples of real goons of the NHL: Tie Domi, Bob Probert, Donald Brashear.

I've watched Bertuzzi for years. In the dictionary under goon you would find his photo. Guess he will keep his mouth shut next time he's sent to the box. If every time he violated the rules, the idiot would have 20 minutes in penalties a game. My opinion, punish the team for putting a hack job on the ice. All they are looking for is to instigate a fight.

Eh...That one on Bertuzzi looked like an OK call. Not for high sticking, but had I been reffing, I would have called slashing. Looked to me like he brought his stick down on his shoulder on purpose there. Other than that, BS calls.
