cat with head jerking / twitching / unknown he is good for aout 3 weeks out of the month .. then i can tell hes getting "down" because he sleeps for around 48 hours straight . When he gets up from his sleep he has a fever and has a drunken gait . This is the first time his head has done this .. he has been down 3 times in 3 months , his illness lasts from 3-5 days each time . Vet thought it was an infection the first 2 times and he was put on antibiotics . They have not helped - were are going back to get blood drawn and go from there - he is under a yr old and is a full or mix Siamese as i found him under the hood of my car this summer . He is fixed and it was shortly after that these episodes began .

  • sad to say .. we have had another episode and he was tested for FIV - Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and FeLV - Feline Leukemia . He tested positive for FIV . But hes still doing great .. even after this episode .

  • We ended up getting a second opinion from another vet .. since the first vet said it was an inner ear infection .. and i didnt believe that was the case ! The second vet ended up treating him for toxoplasmosis and nerve damage... and so far he has been episode free !
