Bret Stephens and Roger Cohen debate the intents of the Islamic Iranian Regime (headed by president Ahmadinejad and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei). How should the U.S., Israel and the west should engage Iran in face of its nuclear ambitions (sanctions, embargo, military strike, engagement, containment, deterrence, etc.). They also deal with the Iranian people who fight for a democracy with-in Iran, holocaust denial, raising of messianic tendencies in the regime (hastening the return of the Mahdi by creating turmoil and bloodshed). The also debate the consequences of a nuclear Iran vs. a military strike on its nuclear facilities and how the Israeli-Palestinian conflict might effect and be effected by Iran and a nuclear bomb or threshold capability.

why not complain about saudi arabia where women cannot even drive.

iran is the most democratic country in the middle east even when you consider israel.haha

@MrAataghi Let's say your neighbor has threatened you with death every chance he got, let's say he also hired goons to beet you, and let's say he thinks he's doing it in the name of god - do you think he has the same right to hold a gun permit as you do?

And if Iran want's to save the planet so why don't they simply stop selling oil to the west?

you can't kill terroism by invading a country. You would end up with more of it especially when Bin Laden is not even there. What's next invade Pakistan? Iranians are acting exactly how one would act if they were put on sanctions, surrounded by foreign forces. I don't see people giving them choices but to arm and prepare to defend themselves. I don't beleive Israel will stop even if there are no nuclear weapons in Iran. they would just find another excuse to gain control of the oil there.
