Just a quick comparison of two of Terra Plana's Vivo Barefoot line of shoes. The Aquas (green) are the more traditional sneaker style and the Oaks are more of a moccasin. Both have suede outers and minimal soles. While the Aqua's sole comes in at 3mm compared to the Oak's 4.5mm, the Oaks feel more light weight and flexible. Both models are excellently constructed and well worth their price point. The folks at Terra Plana were very helpful in helping me figure out what size I needed and even offered a small discount to me for contacting them through Twitter.
Super informative. Thanks!

I'm surprised that you're a US 10 and VFF 41. I'm a US 9.5 and VFF 43! (42s felt fine, but on my first run a small hole developed, so I upped to 43.) So now I'm even more confused about what size Aquas to get! I'll probably get 44s and see how that goes for me. :S

thanks for the review numberpunk, much appreciated. How are the shoes still holding up? My concern is durability of these shoes, as livingdaylight pointed out.

I had the oaks in canvass and lasted a couple months only. Both shoes started tearing around the shoe-lace hole. and the right shoe also started tearing by the seam on the face of the shoe. Oh, shoe-laces disintegrated too, in no time. To their credit terra plana have offered to replace them, but nevertheless I'm very disconcerted, disappointed and wary now of the quality of these builds. Considering they boast quality build. Why do these portuguese co go to china to make?
