this video shows how to make linux play dvds in ubuntu kde or xcfe

terminal codes
for gnome type in : gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
for kde: kdesudo kwrite /etc/apt/sources.list
for xcfe: gksudo mousepad /etc/apt/sources.list

at the bottom of source list paste

## Repositories for proprietary media
deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ hardy free non-free
# deb-src http://packages.medibuntu.org/ hardy free non-free

then save over origanl copy

  • It only worked for like 15 sec of the movie then it stopped. I am using Ubuntu 10.10

  • This hasnt worked for me, is there any other method you know?
