The Naqba of Arabic Jews

...The actual Nakba had nothing to do with Jews, and nothing to do with demands by Palestinian Arabs for self-determination, independence and statehood. To the contrary, it had everything to do with the fact that the Palestinian Arabs saw themselves as Syrians. They rioted at this nakba - at this catastrophe - because they found deeply offensive the very idea that they should be independent from Syria and Syrians. In the 1920s, the very suggestion that Palestinian Arabs constituted a separate ethnic nationality was enough to send those same Arabs out into the streets to murder and plunder violently in outrage.
The actual Nakba had nothing to do with Jews and nothing to do with demands by Palestinian Arabs for self determination.

If they themselves insisted they were simply Syrians who had migrated to the Land of Israel, by what logic are the Palestinian Arabs deemed entitled to their own state today? Palestinian Arabs are no more a nation and no more entitled to their own state than are the Arabs of Detroit or of Paris.

As the Palestinians are, in fact, Syrians, it is worth noting what one of the early Syrian nationalists had to say.
The following quote comes from the great-grandfather of the current Syrian dictator, Basher Assad:

'Those good Jews brought civilization and peace to the Arab Muslims, and they dispersed gold and prosperity over Palestine without damage to anyone or taking anything by force. Despite this, the Muslims declared holy war against them and did not hesitate to massacre their children and women.... Thus, a black fate awaits the Jews and other minorities in case the Mandates are canceled and Muslim Syria is united with Muslim Palestine'.

That statement is from a letter sent to the French prime minister in June 1936 by six Syrian Alawi notables (the Alawis are the ruling class in Syria today) in support of Zionism. Bashar's great-grandfather was one of them (hat tip to Daniel Pipes for reference).
The question is, who got to the Arab Leaders to turn them on the Jews, and why did they they do it. This is the calling of our time, to research and spread the realities of these truths, and rectify the severe damage inflicted upon the Jews, and those in the Arab World who have been damaged by the corruption of the true historical record, and the resultant loses incurred by the denial of the Arab People of the benefit of their natural symbiotic relationship with their brother, the Jew.......

This is not an issue of propaganda nor should it be. The fact of the matter is that Mizrahi and Maghrebi Jews suffer disproportionately from poverty in Israel to this day. Some communities are still just trying to rebuild themselves and the Israeli government isn't doing enough to alleviate the situation, nor can it given the amount of resources that have to be dedicated to just making sure it doesn't get wiped off the map.

@TheCollegeRabbi I'm a Mizrahi Jew too living in US. I know that Mizrahi Jews suffer more poverty than ashkanazi Jews. First I could not believe it. There is racism still against the indigenous Jews. I keep hearing that we all are ONE. But why the difference between the two. Until 1990, 70% of Israeli Jews were Mizrahi. Even today Mizrahi are 50-55% (excluding those of mixed marriages). But still, Mizrahi are rarely seen in politics and other high level positions.

My grandfather [Polish Jew] was always treated with dignity and respect in 1948 Algeria and Morocco. When Jews were killing and stealing from Arabs in 1948 Palestine, my grandpa was outraged to now see Jews treat Arabs like Nazi's treated Jews.

I am a Palestinian Christian and I believe Arab Jews and Palestinians both suffering same problem. But I don't see Arab Jews fighting back for their right of return in the Arab countries. Palestinians on other hand always fighting for their right of return.
