Gabriel Urbain Fauré (12 May 1845 -- 4 November 1924) was a French composer, organist, pianist and teacher. He was one of the foremost French composers of his generation, and his musical style influenced many 20th century composers. Among his best-known works are his Nocturnes for piano, the songs "Après un rêve" and "Clair de lune", and his Requiem.

Sicilienne was originally written in March, 1893 as part of the incidental music for Moliere's "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme" but was never used for that purpose; it was then used as a solo for cello or violin with piano accompaniment and first published in April, 1898, as his Op. 78.

Justin is playing a "Gliga Vasile Professional" series violin (called a "Gliga Gama 1" in USA).

@Agapeh7 Thank you. The violin is a "Gliga Vasile Professional" violin (called a "Gliga Gama 1" in USA). This one was bought at Logan's Pianos in Sydney.

So this is the Gliga Pro you see for sale in Australia but the Gliga Gama I you see for sale in the USA. I don't understand why they rebadge the violins in different countries. I don't think most people care about the name..........great violin for the price though.
