@bart4111 Revolvers just introduce their own problems. Ever heard of a hang fire? Cylinder binding?
Most guns go bang every time you pull the trigger nothing is 100% reliable. In high quality and well designed weapons the most common failure is resulting in bad ammunition, a bad magazine, or just one of those one in a thousand chance of things just not working as planned.

The reason most comp shooters use revolvers is for that reason. Revolvers are going to go bang every time you pull the trigger. Auto's miss feed, auto's stove pipe and double feed from time to time..that's just an auto, it can be firing one round a second and miss feed or stove pipe. It really is an issue of ammunition and magazine tension more than cycle rate ability.
