The process of reclaiming the Mau forest began on Friday morning with the launch of the interim coordinating secretariat of the Mau forest complex. Former Rift Valley PC Noor Hassan Noor will head the secretariat that is established in the Office of the Prime Minister for a period of two years. The secretariat will coordinate the implementation of short-term recommendations made by the taskforce on the Mau.

  • I see. Create another task force to implement what the first task force suggested.

Then pay a secretariat to coordinate what ministers who are making over 100, 000 dollars a year are supposed to be doing.

Coordinate the coordination of the coordinators.

  • please Raila promise kenyans you will not flip flop on the issue again. we need action on the mau now, not tomorrow. time for talking is over.

  • One who lifts the load onto ur head is indeed the one who will lift it off, let kenya have a kalenjin prezo then the (mau) issue will be past

  • waooo I totally agree with your angle of having a system in place...orderliness! People deserve their dignity after all they had to do what they did as their leaders lead them to it!

Let's close our fingers the system is not abused. Even God knows the evil mentality out there with these bureaucrats. They are so hungry they'll eat Mau up in a flash!

  • She said that the guy( read RAO) has no will to restore Mau, but is scared of his political friends from RV. Using mathai for this purpose, i think, would have given the whole process credibility and made it easier to open donor taps with ease.

  • hahaha wht she said? didn't see that!

  • agree. one can't help than be a cynic in this Mau cat-n-mouse game.

notice every time these tax exempt politicians open their foul mouths the tax payers gets to pay the bill.

  • step in the right direction...it is always good to tackle complex issues in a well-structured legally acceptable systematic way, as opposed to microwave inspired knee-jerk manner. The good thing is that there is consensus that people have to vacate mau, and we have two year framework to measure the outcomes.Let us give them breathing space to do their work .NB, I do ,however, agree with siasabora that the PM should have considered Wangari as an ex-officio...lakini aliongea mbaya jana...lol

  • kasupuuu....if u thinks so,why do all this shit-talking on press-studio-room. we fed-up wth ths showdown of everyone tryng to show-on-press how good thy r compared to others, let them send they memos to media, for printing then we see thy pic-cum-video on the ground walking the said talk!! Soon he (PM) will change his stand b4 even ths force or watever the name is get to work!!

  • kiaibabu...you seem to be one of the many notorious prophets of doom who never have anything nice to say on GK. We all know that there is a BIG problem in our govt. and a lot needs to be done. But give credit where it is due. This clip is one of the very few I am proud of watching because it is free of the petty and ignorant debates that have come to characterise kenyan politics. Whether the PM actually "walks the talk" is yet to be seen. But this is definitley a step in the right direction!
