There are some old folk songs that have such beautiful melodies; they are always somewhere in my head; so I brought this one into the air.

  • Thank you so much! That was absolutely lovely! Love the sound of your Weissenborn - could you tell us what brand/type it is? I'm looking into buying my first Weissenborn - the one you are using sounds great - if it's "affordable" that might be the one to buy. Please keep up the great work - love your pure and genuine traditional style - very good voice too.

    hi

    thanks for the kind words,

for your first weiss, i would suggest something like a bedaz or a goldtone or peruse ebay pages. you'll find one to suit your budget. the one i am playing is a bear creek, costs a fortune but sounds and looks fantastic

  • wonderful ! Congrats and thanks for sharing this tune

  • Truly elegant (again), Tom. Thank you very much!

  • Wonderful melody and bass runnings, and your singing is marvelous ... a highlight!

    Thanks & greetings,

    Lena

  • Great stuff!

  • Tom:

    Wonderful!!! How are you tuned?

  • Written by Cyril Tawney in the late 1950's. I dont know if he knicked the tune in true folkie fashion. Anyway, its probably younger than you are!

Regardless, a stunning bit of playing and singing.

  • This might be my favorite Doughty recording to date. Such beautiful slide playing and soulful singing.

  • Tom, I always enjoy hearing you work your slide magic, you are an inspiration to me and will be for many many years
