Ted Simons interviews a shining star in the universe of astrophysics, Neil deGrasse Tyson. The author and host of PBS NOVA ScienceNOW talks about what sparked his interest in the cosmos. Ted also asks what Tyson has against Pluto, the celestial body that was discovered at Flagstaff's Lowell Observatory.

Ripped this video from AZPBS to make it more public. The video was by no means easy to access so it would only be appropriate to make it more accessible.

  • Only half of the people who watched part 1 made it to part 2...wow

  • Great interview :)

  • @xmaneater I so wanted to be "that guy", but I just couldn't bring myself to do it to Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

  • 0 dislikes, that's what I'm talking about.

  • Thanks MicroHive for all three parts, what a great upload. This should be on the homepage of YT so people have the opportunity to watch an inspiring pioneer in the field of Astrophysics, Science has a bad reputation for egocentric scientists who argue over theorems and problems, Mr Tyson however makes the whole subject seem no more complex than rules of a football or basketball game.

  • Neil deGrasse Tyson is awesome!

I also like the host -- he's so much smarter than most people who interview Mr. Tyson.

  • This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen. I am blown away with the sincerity beaming from both the interview and of course Neil. You rarely see conversations with this much humane and sincere attitude towards interviewer and interviewee on TV now a days. What a pity that is.

  • Niel needs to be involved in education in this country. I could do so much good breaking the mold of ignorance in science education

  • @Klutchsterr

Hes Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space.

Write to him there. I warn you he probably gets 1000 letters a week.

  • @TheToxicRadio Im not sure. But I have been looking as well a PM would be appreciated if you find anything out.
