I do feel like stretching is not for everybody. No amount of stretching ALONE will help you retain length any more than you would if you were relaxing every 10 weeks. I personally feel like the length retention comes from maintaining your ends with moisture and protective styles. IMO stretching does keep your hair stronger in the long run because you are not dealing with relaxer overlap issues as frequently. I am so glad you let your voice be heard on this issue. Kudos :)

I accidentally stretched for 3 months and will not do that again. Ten to twelve weeks is good for me. Otherwise, my hair becomes very fragile. No benefits to stretching for me. Also, some of us already have thick hair. Seems like some stretchers do it, in hopes of getting thicker hair.

@lifelinegmail - awww, I'm sorry to hear that. People have reported that JBCO and just castor oil in general helps to make hair thicker...maybe you have already tried that but if not, its a suggestion. Thanks for watching!

@Sharol03 - great point, summer vs. winter can definitely influence your stretch length. thanks for watching!
Ye i agree, i only like to stretch because i dont like too much chemicals in my hair. I would never do a 6 month + stretch, max id go is 3-4 months which i think is reasonable. I agree that everyine should get to know their own hair type and not do what everyone else is doing just because it worked for them. So yep! Even tho the video was lagging, the info was on point:-)

This is a great video! When I did my first stretch back in '09, caused me the biggest horrible setback! I didn't know what I was doing but did a stretch cause everyone on the hairboards had success. Me, my family, No one, oil, conditioner, and Detangler could remove the knots. My stylist had to cut my hair to NL!!!! This was a
