Wild ferry ride from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island

Taken from the top deck of the ferry from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island.

The wind came up, pushing some waves over the top of the ferry.

I was standing on the top deck when I shot this - notice how the water was over my head, and flooded the deck.

The top deck is 40 to 50 feet above water level!

You are incorrect. The top deck is more than 30 feet above water.

Update: they recently took that ferry out of service due to a crack in the steel hull, caused by rough seas on this route.
