This video with a glimpse of GTAIV pc gameplay shows besides being plagued with graphical & performance glitches & total lack of optimization, how it can be handled with a mid range pc running on QuadCPu. texture & render qualities are set on high & the res is 1440*900 as shown
with my system all on stock speed it is squeezing out an avg of 30-45fps pretty high for my rig.
using the new nVidia 180.84beta driver have improved the overall gameplay. besides those are having trouble to max out texture setings due to vid memory limitation they can download this file:

( i uploaded) and place is in their root directory. this will enable u to go beyond mem restriction like mine.
my spec:
intel Q6600
XFX 8800GT alpha dog
intel q35
4GB ddr2 800Mhz RAM
WDC 320GB SATAII HDD
some comments are welcome

here are my bench results:

  • can i run on amd quad core: 3.1 ghz 8gb ddr3 ram and nvidia 8800 320mb ?

  • @MiXeDGaMeR1 : yes you can run but u will need to lower the resolution and texture cache etc since u graphics memory is very limited.

  • I can run this game beautifully on my desktop at highest settings. When I go away I would like to play this on my laptop but it runs so poorly that it is unplayable. I pass the minimum requirements. I have applied the latest patches and updated my drivers. I'm running an HP Pavilion G6. Here's the specs:

    Windows 7 64 bit

    4 GB DDR3 RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon 4250 (integrated graphics)

    512mb shared memory

AMD Phenom II at 2.6ghz (can't overclock)

Runs at 10-18fps at lowest settings.

    Any suggestions?

  • @MiXeDGaMeR1 Medium settings.

  • @TheSmrtMouth Get a cooling pad and make sure your Windows is set to Max Performance . That will drain your battery fast, but at least your games will be much smoother

  • @TheSmrtMouth the 4250 is dogshit and gta4 likes quad cores

  • @MiXeDGaMeR1 Check your PM.

  • @FRr3AkOnALEaSh

yeah i realised it now lol what would you recommend ? i need a card for like £20-£70

  • @MiXeDGaMeR1 Hey man just a quick tip, you might want to upgrade your gpu (Graphics card) at some point, the 4 digit GT geforce series is pretty out dated

  • @AdityaNair1000 i run everthing on high :D

  • @XboxGaming52 So? :-)

  • Friend runs in the game settings?

Processor: Intel (R) Celeron (R) CPU GHz E33@2.50
