"2% of serial killers are found insane" that is insane. Maybe we ought to look at changing the definition of insanity. If 98% of serial killers are defined as sane the definition is wrong. If having a head in your fridge and a pair of bollocks in the soup pan isnt insane what is? He's off his rocker, hes fallen out of the mental tree and hit every branch on the way down.

@Flipper79able many experts believe that jeff had DID or multiple personality disorder but was not insane, but mentally ill at the time of the crimes. he was one that was different from the rest. he often described his crimes as if he was looking on to him self or like a 3rd person. he also tried to suppress his other side with alcohol. insane probably not. mentally ill probably

@MonSwon I think the criminal justice system in the United States views insanity as someone who is unaware of what they are doing and doesn't know the difference between right and wrong. I think clearly most serial killers have something mentally wrong with them but they are evaluated to determine whether they were aware of what they did was wrong. The fact that Jeff was hiding his murders shows his awareness. Some people can just be incredibly selfish and arrogant and don't care about people.

dahmer is not insane he went to far .....when they caught him he was affraid and worried about his life he even cried .........................this is not insanity ..

@MonSwon The comment "%2 of serial killers are found insane" is based upon thr legal definition of insanity not a medical one.The legal definition only want's to know if the accused knew the difference between right and wrong when they commited their crimes and therefore "sane'. This is why very few criminals are found not guilty by reason of insanity.
