Bought this camera. 1280 x 720 mode works at 30 fps, provided you have fairly bright lighting. Exposure works nicely, but white balance is slow. You can coax it into operation by filling the view with a white sheet of paper with black text on it. Autofocus is slow too, as you can see in iTechieSolution's video. But autofocus allows you to do things that you can't do with a fixed focus camera (HP HD3100). Camera works well enough, but I wish I had a Logitech 720p with autofocus, for comparison.

@soilmanted1 i think u'r full of crap!! this comment is irrelevant!

Don't wear a white hat. The automatic lighting adjustment may adjust for your hat, making your face look too dark. It doesn't seem to be doing this, and seems to be able to distinguish your face from your hat, but in general this a good idea.

HP is claiming the camera is Skype compatible if you have the latest version of the camera, or if you upgrade the firmware to the latest version. You can get the firmware from HP's website.

Yea, 720p. I think this video is in 640 x 480. Try and get the full 30 frames per second, too, so we can see how well it tracks movement without things getting blurry. Live move your hand from left to right, with the camera focused on it, not too fast not too slow.

can you upload a 720p video with it at the same light conditions and with low/bad light conditions, this would be really helpful
hey i have it but it wont work on skype even though i have the right updates everything.......do you know why?

did you get it to work with Yahoo IM 10, or Skype 5 ? I didn't, tried 4 different PCs / Laptops, no luck. 2 PCs even crashed. I am pretty diappointed now.
