  • I realize that those castles and those villages have grown older as my brain has, but they haven't changed and my brain has. Sure would like to take another trip before I head for the Green, maybe catch up on Fulda too....Nice video Gaither!!!

  • @bgrice1939 Thanks sir, it's a busy and interesting river with lots of history as you know.

  • 2:09.....good defensive spot for stronghold...........but how did they escape if the enemy broke in?? no rope is that long!!

  • @acerb45666555 It this case it looks like retreat was not an option (like a beach landing you can't retreat). From a military standpoint in some situation it is better to retreat than to die (if you have that option).

  • Awesome !! Can you really see Neuschwanstein from the Rhine ??

  • 1488bill -if you were asking me, we didn't visit that section of the Rhine.

  • @CodeKid5 Thank you very much for correcting my bad geography. I should have known that,my ancestors were from Baden. I was reading about the old Moravian and Silesia kingdoms and still get them confused with old Hapsburg Austria. I believe this region is now Czech Bohemia.

  • @1488bill

the Rhine comes from switzerland and gos through the west of germany to the netherlands. Bavaria is in the south-east of germany

  • @CodeKid5 I thought this Upper Middle Rhine was in Bavaria. Is it Franconia? What about the lower part of the Rhine flowing from Switzerland?

Please straighten out my not-so-good geography.

  • @1488bill No you can't. It's in Bavaria.

  • @1488bill no you cant see it from the rhine..
