This is a Tool Assisted Speedrun of Daedalian Opus. This video uses special features like savestates and frame advance to overcome human limits, therefore allowing me to beat this game as fast as possible.
The ending has been cut from this video because of that retarded 10:59 minutes limit; if you wish to watch the complete video you can download an H264 encode of it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/150947963/daedalianopus-tas-nineko.avi

I hope you're going to like this, as it is one of my favorite games ever :)

  • I speed ran this game (no tools) in 19:56 recently. Thanks for the inspiration, dude! Your radical video really helped me to relax and hang in there.

  • @CoinFlip8888 Glad that you liked this :)

  • Ha thanks for posting this. I remember my parents getting me this game one year for my birthday. I didn't like it very much but this video is pretty good nostalgia.

  • This is one of my favourite games when I was still a little kid~ XD

  • I love this.

  • I just remembered that this game taught me the word Zeal, I remember having to look it up in a dictionary after I beat it for the first time.

Remember friends, ZEAL is the password to every level select screen.

  • Wow, I haven't played that since I was a kid, thanks for the memories. Nice to see that last level again, I had forgotten that I even beat this game.

  • If you want to trade games with me i'll be happy to. Just comment on my channel. don't forget the name of the game and your adress. : )

  • This is awesome.

IIRC, it seemed that when you start any given stage, the given pieces are always placed in the same starting place & position. Is that true? If so, did that help in making the tool-assisted speedrun?

I remember diagramming a few of these pentomino puzzles on graphing paper lol. Of course, I started with the last/hardest because I saw my friend play that one xD .

  • Good speed run ! and feel the same way as you do about these kinds of game, they're so much fun !! I guess I'll try this one some day
