I think people should stop discussing this Scandinavia thing now. Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden and Denmark. This is because these countries were once a union, and because of the language similarities. Norway, Sweden and Denmark were also the Viking countries. The Finnish language is not at all like our. I have never in my entire life heard anything about Finland being a Scandinavian country. Just enjoy this good song now, end of discussion!

Sure, but FIN was just together with SWE. They had never to do anything with Norway or DEN. DEN controlled NOR for ca. 500 years and you can hear that the languages are very similar. The three countries were even in an union for ca. 100 years. Try to compare finnish with one of the scandinavic languages. You're right in one way: Geographicly seen just NOR and SWE are part of Scandinavia. In the cultural and historical way DEN is also a part of it. You can even look it up in every lexicon.

You`re maybe right, but almost everywhere around the world when someone says Scandinavian countries it implies to Norway, Sweden and Finland. Almost nowhere Denmark is considered as Scandinavian country.

In American text books we are taught that Scandinavia is Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. Every text book or atlas that I have ever owned here in the US has used that categorization. I guess they don't do that in Sweden?

Hmmm. I see your point and that's a really smart conclusion of you, but Iceland is almost the same case as Finland. Iceland shares much history and culture with Norway/Denmark, but not really much with Sweden. It was a bit badly explained by me though, so I'm very sorry. Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland are part of something called North (Norden).
