pellet stove cleaning

I found there were not a lot of videos showing how to clean a pellet stove so here is my version. This is a Whitfield pellet stove that is about 5 - 7 years old.

ROFLMAO.........really?...a shop-vac to vacuum ashes? Soooo....you didn't notice the huge plume of dust smoke when you turned it on? You need a vacuum with a much finer filter for that!

i bought the cricket vac for 200$ wish i had thought of the different filter for the shop vac!!!

good to know. Thanks. I just bought a small powerful vac for this purpose that has a hepa filter for around a hundred bucks. I don't want ash all over the house. The wife would kill me.

Great video. I have an Avalon Astoria which is very similar. I found that using a shop-vac with an internal bag designed for drywall and fine dust along with a HEPA cartridge eliminates dust that the cleaning generates. Also, before I start up the stove after cleaning, I preload the firebox with pellets to get the fire going quicker and extend the life of the ignitor.
