Hard to believe what that place (Windy Hill) once looked like. Was there a couple of weeks ago, half the place is demolished now. The old stands on the side where the tv cameras are remain and are pretty ropey looking, but the rest - all just open now. Would've been an awesome atmosphere in its time
Essendon 27.19 (181) (Goals: Copping 7, Terry Daniher 4, Van der Haar 3, Buhagiar 3, Merrett 3, Thomson 2, Hawker 2, Heard, Dunnell, Madden) defeated Footscray 7.7 (49) (Goals: Sewell 4, Royal, Beasley, McKenna)
This was a record third successive 100-point win by Essendon over Footscray, and it said in the Age that, despite Footscray's four wins in succession, that "anyone who had been out of town for the past month would not have noticed any improvement from 1982".
