Just a few things for the ladies to think about when going to your "gynie" appointments. Not trying to offend, after all, I'm a patient also. I take my own advice. I'll be making a Etiquette for the doctor's office worker later.

  • I want to become an OBGYN, but I don't know how to become one. I know your not an OBGYN, but if you have any info on how to be one or what they do that would be extremly helpful! Thanks! :)

  • @TheTopChelseaSupport First you have to get into college then on to medical school.

  • so i guess what im trying to ask is two things. First, would she be able to look for my name in the system and just like snoop at my medical records even if I dont go to the doctors. Second. If I did go and she saw me, would she be able to see my medical records. Third. if I did go. would she ever be in the exam room with the doctor. like can any medical person go looking for my records on some computor system. please answer me LaVerne thanks.

  • @philrich92 Well...First, if you don't go to the doctor you wouldn't have a medical record for anyone to snoop at. Second, clinical assistants have access to medical records because they are the ones who get you ready to see the doctor to let the doctor know why you're there. Third someone besides the doctor would be in the room with you if you are having a certain type of exam because the doctor has to have a chaperone who serves as a witness for both the patient and doctor.

  • @LaVerne1977 It looks like the first part of my message wasn't posted. I have been going to this doctor's office for some time so I will have (embarrassing) medical records there. However, since this girl I know started working there I have avoided going. She is a second year nursing student who works part time at the my doctors office. So I'm wondering what it is she actually does there and whether her position would allow her to look at my records even if I don't go there anymore? Thanks.

  • @philrich92 If you haven't been in she has no reason to be in your medical records.

  • Hi LaVerne...I'm a receptionist at an OBGYN's office. I have been there for 2 yrs. B4 that I worked as a receptionist for 5 1/2 years for Family Practice..i love this video and everything you said is sooo true :) When patients complain about filling out paper work I tell them it is required by their ins. company to have updated info every year and if they don't want to fill it out they can feel free to pay for the visit instead of it going to their ins. that usually ends the arguement..LOL

  • I want to be an obgyn sooop bad but im only 11 so i hsve a LONG way to go!!
