@bigwill619 Actually, Easter Island is also on the list for Transoceanic Landing Site. However, the Hao Airport (HIO/NTTO) is surely recommended with a 11000' runway. To get the list, search "List_of_space_shuttle_landing
_runways" on Wikipedia :) -

Veo que el "callsign" del avion es "Lan 834", o sea el vuelo PPT-IPC-SCL... El "callsign" de Lan Airlines es "Lan" o "Lan Chile" normalmente? Tengo dos fuentes contradictorias. Gracias!

Lan Chile, aunque a veces se acorta. Es para diferenciarse de Lan Peru, Lan Ecuador y Lan Cargo...Lan Argentina llama como Lanar.

If anyone is interested there is a Qantas 747-400 landing on Easter Island on 23/06/09 at 15:30pm local time, if any locals can get some footage it would be great.

jeje, es verdad, pero en caso de emergencia el transbordador aterriza en casi cualquier aeropuerto, lo que pasa es que por ahi no hay mas que ese.
