This is to improve fretting hand accuracy. start off slowly and build up speed. you should be able to do what hes doing in under an hour.

this is actually useful. At first my sweeping was good but sometimes i would miss the string but hit the right fret and get that muted sound but now my sweeping is alot cleaner.

He is sweeping but, very slowly, thats why it looks like he is picking. These are ascending Major and Minor arpeggios. I'm not as good a sweeper as fox, but believe it or not sweeping slowly can be harder than sweeping fast sometimes. The hardest part about sweeping is staying in time and not sweeping the easy parts fast and the difficult bits slower, thats what he is trying to show you. ALWAYS USE A METRONOME.
