Somehow the idea that being heterosexual is an important part of a person's character is perpetuated...namely by people whose character is profoundly flawed. Rationalizing hate and discrimination is hardly a virtue. Promoting inequality based on sexual preference is not something to be proud of. Hate is not a virtue. There is no way to spin bigotry.
