Needing to fertilize our garden, we used a farmers dump truck. We are still getting the hang of things, especially learning how to down-shift.

  • if ya cant find em, grind em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • take it easy on er dont listen to that idiot "shifting agrressively" trucks are nothing but big babies and need to be a treated as such..jamming it in gear will get you nothing but a roasted transmission. however..for someone who dosent have a CDL obviously has little to no expeirience driving a truck...i give you credit for trying..because most people wouldnt have made it off the lot. good effort and keep working on it :)

  • i would kick u in the face if u shift like that on my truck

  • i havent driven a big rig. but i imagine its like floating gears in a car just way less forgiving because they dont have constant mesh transmitions. but i was taught to pass peak power and you feel it, then pull it into nuetral as you back of the gas, aply pressure to the next gear and then let the engine and road speed match up and it slips into gear

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha, don't we all forget our first times.

  • I drive a Sterling LT9511 Tri-Axle with an Eaton Fuller 8LL transmission. I mainly haul blacktop and stone for the construction company I work for. I have to say for someone that doesn't have a lot of experience, you didn't do to bad a job. Just give it time. Eventually, you will learn to feel the gears out and at that point, shifting is a breeze, regardless of wither you are going up or down in gears.

  • good video -)))

  • Glad that is not my truck you are driving. Glad those gears are in a box or they would be spread for miles down the road. There is a definite nack to driving a roadranger and you need to get someone to show you the correct technique. I had similar problems when i first started driving one, especially when they throw you in and hope you can learn to swim.

  • they're getting manure for their garden? that's a big ass load of manure.

  • I know that the vid is old, but I noticed that you had one mud flap missing on the right side, My truck had the same issue, I had to take it in for its C.O.F and it didn't pass..the laws in NZ sucks

  • @sighail1 too rite mate
