Wow... I didn't think video of this game show even existed. Does a full episode exist? I don't remember the format of the show. Just when contestants lost, they were pulled backwards through the door. -- Great childhood memories. Thanks for the clip.
This shows little theme's stuck in my head - for years. Personally, I don't know Mr. Wade, but my dad was friends with him, and says he's a great guy. I wish weekdays went back to having fun, gameshows, instead of the crap they do.
@altfactor The last CBS game show to be produced in New York but the first to have a black (African-American) game show host in Adam Wade, who was not only an excellent singer whose biggest hit was "Take Good Care of Her" but worked for Dr. Jonas Salk. . It opened the door for Spencer Christian (hosted Triple Threat on BET), Wayne Brady (Let's Make A Deal on CBS), and Alfonso Ribiero (Catch 21 on GSN).
@Yobachi2007 The only thing Musical Chairs had in common with the party game was its title. This was a bona fide game show, where contestants buzzed in to pick one of three missing lyrics. The fun part was when the first lyric sung wasn't the right one: when lyric "B" started, contestants would either buzz in "B" as the correct answer, or "C" if "B" was obviously incorrect. Either way, the result would be a flurry of buzzers. Fun!

@altfactor Irene was doing very well before Fame. Sparkle was a pretty big deal.

Adam was THE MAN! Talk about "Unsung". Wayne Brady, Steve Harvey, Nick Cannon and many others owe it ALL to him...the FIRST Black host of a gameshow.
All you haters keep ya mouths shut and move on to ya Lil Wayne crap videos!

A few years later, Irene Cara would be a superstar thanks to her recording of the theme from "Fame".
I believe "Musical Chairs" was the last CBS daytime game show ever produced in New York.

This was also the show where Sister Sledge became known prior to their We Are Family days!
