I used to listen to this show a lot, it's a good one with a high quality recording. There are quite a few highlights in it. I still have the recording somewhere but haven't heard it in several years.

I remember that Bullet With Butterfly Wings segues into this. And at the very end of this song, there's a short tease of 'A National Acrobat' by Black Sabbath? Did you edit that out?

@InfiniteFish1979 I don't think it is a joke. Pumpkins have always been versatile in their sound, dabbling in everything from indie to hard rock to techno. Anyway I would call this prog rather than heavy metal. Sounds kinda Tool-ish.

This song was intended as a joke. Smashing pumpkins are not a heavy metal band. Go read the lyrics to heavy metal machine. This video of hells angels style skulls to the once in a lifetime cover is just tragic. Machina was a complex and devious era, and yes I was there through it all.

The Smashing Pumpkins could turn the phone book into hard rocker and make it sound slick! Hec k i like their cover better than most of the originals. Another good cover is The Smashing Pumpkins "The Crystal Ship (The Doors)".

As much as I love the pumpkins...they really murdered all that was great about the original. Sure it's gritty and rockin, like a good pumpkins show should be...but I'm not sure what Billy was thinking....at least retain some form of the original. More like a Soundgarden version..
