Number 1: don't spend 5 hours going the wrong way at the start of the game because you don't know what a burg is and end up dying repeatedly on the first two skeletons, it's not fun until you see the obscure path to the right.

@jwells62225 There is a reason why the PS3 controller is perfect for Platforming, and in this case some insane Japanese Action RPG craziness.

I find the X360 controller to be great for First-Person Shooters... That's pretty much it.

And being able to play Demon's before Dark will give you an edge.

@lthp Know where you meet the Drake on the bridge? when you kick the ladder down you are given quick access to the next area, and you can farm souls there like mad.

Run up the stairs, get on the bridge and quickly run back down the stairs. That Drake will burn down all those Hollows and give you instant 555 Souls (Or more) do this for some time and you'll have enough to see the first merchant for upgrades.

The best tip in this video would be class, reading enemies and combat system.

Grinding, really? Terrible advice. Progress gets you tons of souls. As well as exploration.

Oh, yes. Don't tank. You'll get raped until you bleed.

Keep your equipment load under 50%, so you can roll. Effectively, anyway. You can always roll. As long as you aren't over-encumbered.

Idiots. This game is easy if you played Demon's Souls. Don't block constantly. Let your stamina charge.

Parry and Riposte a lot. If you're decent, anyway. As they said, learn the enemies. Play with buddies! Summon those phantoms to help out. Use common sense.

I'm on play through 4 (New Game +++). The only challenging people are the Four Kings, and Ornstein and Smough.
