  • Thats a $300 BOV and this isn't even rice. Do your research before making a stupid comment.

  • relieves compressor surge without reducing compressor speed. It controls boost pressure that is built up by the turbo and vents it into the atmosphere when the car is not under load (in between shifts). This prevents pressure from backing up into the compressor housing, causing the turbo impeller blade to rapidly stop or even worse, to spin backwards (compressor surge or backspin). Doing so can be potentially destructive to the turbine wheel and shaft.

  • i love my cars n the fact wen i go to a video n sumone comments sayin ricer, yet the fact thy dont kno wat it actually meants...retards

  • @TSWG00 Dude do you even read what you are typing. The BOV has nothing to do with controlling the boost pressure that job is for the boost controller and the waste gate. Yes a BOV prevents compressor surge but how exactly is a mere 18psi or less of AIR going to bring impeller blades that are spinning at 40 000 - 100 000 rpm to a dead stop or LOL spin backwards in a split second? LOL they can't!!

All compressor surge is pressure on the blade that is slowing them down and putting them understres

  • @jojojo9991 it will always be venting to regulate the pressure going into the engine. otherwise it will continue to build up. flat foot will just ruin the clutch

  • @clos19851 ok hahaah just no more hate comments please :D

  • @mctwistman119 cuz it was there.

  • @clos19851 then why did you click this vid?

  • @shizzel122 Id rather an evo IX over that saggy tank. imprezas drive like boats ride in the waves.

  • @clos19851 don't hate on a car you can't afford..

  • ok i have no clue on BOVs but if BOV "vents it into the atmosphere when the car is not under load (in between shifts)", how about flat foot shifting? since flat foot shifting doesnt release the gas pedal when shifting, am i right to say the pressure that builds up in the turbo will only be released after the final 6th gear is in placed and the gas pedal is no longer depress?
