This video illustrates how humans and robotic systems work together. Only an astronaut could provide the real-time problem solving and dexterity to accomplish this repair. The robot arm enables the work by providing a stable, movable work platform.
The supposed conflict between robotic and human exploration does not exist. Robotic elements are sophisticated tools that compliment and enhance human activities in space.

That was very cool, thanks for posting it!

Very cool, but this video miss the initial awesome part: Scott's ride of the Canadarm 2 toward the repair site. His helmet view is UNREAL!

You know what is really sad to see, is the amount of views this gets (112 when I wrote this comment) compared to some other really lamo youtubes (eg 300K + for some girl just talking about nothing)
Here we are watching Humans in Space .... even bouncing a structure!!! it is just amazing ... and we hope for world peace ... we're doomed....

Next flight to the space station I reckon you need to take a role of gaffa tape with you:-)
Thanks for sharing the video.

They use Kapton tape instead, but it amounts to the same thing. They seem to have a stock of materials in the ISS for constructing these emergency lashups.
