this is CLEARLY from the mezzosoprano CD!! FOR GODS SAKE you have no ears! hahah
-
I believe this recording is from Cencic's solo CD "Handel Mezzo-soprano arias", which was recorded in 2009, so he must be already 32 years old here :)

@ TrebleLover - Yes, that was how they formulated it at the time... No clear information ever came out. About rumours? - A too long story for the space here; I´ll write to you in person.

@52sport6469 You aroused my curiosity about the "special methods"! :P
-
@TrebleLover Yeah, he sounds pretty like a Mezzosoprano here.

TrebleLover. - Yes, the status of Cencic after he turned 14 (Sept. 1990) is mysterious and has been much discussed. There was an obvious change in his original boy´s voice and in his exterior, but he went on as Nr. 1 soprano soloist in Wiener Sängerknaben for more than 2 years. There was much talk about his mother´s "special methods" for keeping his soprano voice alive, and there has always been a lot of rumours and suggestions around that time in his life.

Are you sure he was still a boy soprano in this recording?
Max Emanuel Cencic was born on September 21, 1976 in Zagreb/Croatia. At the age of 6 he sang the Queen of the Night in his native town. From 1986-92 he was a member and soloist of the Vienna Boys' Choir.
In September 1992, after his voice break, he started a solo career. A special technique developed by his mother, Silvia von Vojnic-Purcar, allows him to continue singing in the soprano range. He is very popular in Japan.

I bought this as a 1 track download and thought it was a boy soprano singing - do you believe otherwise? Anyone else have thoughts?
