  • How come there is no blood? Is that just how it is, or did you drain the blood first? Sorry I don't know as I've never been hunting. Thanks.

    City Boy,

  • @Vffr1 The bird sat overnight and there is only a little blood when you sever the artery that feeds the breast muscle.

  • Good demonstration on cleaning, but you SHOULD be eating all of the edible parts. Am very annoyed that you are only using about 1/2 or only the "Best" parts of the bird. I have too much respect for the animals I am hunting not to use it all.

  • @tjblackhurst Don't worry...I'll make turkey toenail soup next time.

  • I was so glad to find your video on the net! I followed your procedures step by step. But after getting the breast filets, it was too tempting to ignore the thighs - so I did the same procedure for the thighs. Turkeys here must head to the gym from time to time because they were curvaceous and meaty! Massachusetts is a great state for wild turkeys these days! And now I'm moving on to the best recipes for turkey.... will I marinate? roast? crock pot?

  • @kignelman My fav recipe for legs and thighs is to boil them unitl the meat is falling off and then sub the turkey for chicken in my chicken salad recipe. Works for anything, squirrel, rabbit...etc.

  • @Str8eningTheCurves. Do you drain the blood while the bird sat overnight? You didn't say.

    Thanks,

  • Do you have to soak the meat in salt water before cooking?

Great Vid...., I learned a lot!
