To everyone here, there is a newer version of this camera. Its the 310 HS (instead of 300 HS), and is the same but with little improvements. A review said that if you already have the 300 its not worth the upgrade, but if you need a new camera check it out. Peace :)

lol i have 2 canons and i am looking to get a third.
the ones i have so far is a powershot g2, a powershot a590 is..... on make that 3 canons, i have a camcorder from them too, its a fs100.
and i will soon get an s95.

yeah i saw a video side by side of the Flip vs the ELPH 300 and no only does the canon camera have more features (like still photos too!) but it has a wider angle and better image stabilzation :-) Flip is for newbies :-p its time to move up :-D

Are there any settings for the camera that enable you to use an external tv or monitor while you are filming? I have a Nikon Coolpix S8100 which also takes excellent video but when I plug the connector into the camera to the TV it disables everything but playback on TV. Thanks for your help

Hi! What's the longest you can film with this camera? Or does it all depend on the SD card you insert in it? Thanks!

@angelsafa you can record for up to 10 minutes straight. Just a camera thing, not and SD card thing.

@angelsafa if you mean how much will the camera hold? then that's an SD card thing. i have mine set on 720p HD with an 8GB SD card and it records around 41 minutes total.

I'm looking to get that camera but from what I've been reading it seems that the longest you can record in one segment is 10 min? Is this true? Thanks

@itsliz89 You know, I haven't attempted to do a video that long... oddly enough. I can't believe it's true, but I can't say for sure. I will try to let you know once that happens!
