It's argued that although Japan engaged in massive government programs
and money printing, the Japanese did not experience inflation. Schiff
says Japan's situation was much different that the U.S. because Japan
was a producer, it had a high savings rate, and that the Japanese
government borrowed money from own citizens
Producer, high savings rate, bingo, perhaps due to cultural differences. I've been pontificating Japan's deflation for a while and this video was good food for thought.
