The Attack is a movie created from photographs mainly by the very talented photographer Geoff Buxton, Erik Blakeley and the Great War Society whose copyright they remain.

at Lichfield in Staffordshire has an excellent reputation for events that are memorable and attract the public. With its replica World War 1 trench system the Museum is able to present a variety of very realistic re-enactments. All museums and other attractions need to refresh their product on a regular basis if visitors are to be persuaded to come and live events such as the one illustrated here show what is possible with the support of loyal, hardworking and dedicated re-enactors and volunteers. The payback is increased profile in the media, more visitors and a contribution to income.

The movie is based mainly on photographs by the very talented photographer Geoff Buxton whose copyright they remain.

World War 1 is just one of several historical periods that Staffordshire Regimental Museum promotes in its re-enactment events. Curator Dr Erik Blakeley is to be congratulated on his ability to turn small budgets into big and exciting events!

Thanks are also due to the Great War Society and the Birmingham Pals and the many others who contribute to re-creating history.

  • Oh, those Germans. A warrior race, they were.

  • @Keon455 aged 111 years, 68 days old.

  • @Keon455 Harry patch was the last surviving WW1 veteran he was British he died in 25 July 2009

  • @ffffman Unfortunatly the last WW1 Canadian veteran died in 2008 or 2009

  • such a sad and tragic waste of young life. I wasnt anywhere near being born during the first world war, (i refuse to call it the great war as there was nothing great about it except the courage of millions of young men) but the emotions films like this bring out in me are quite unreal. I wouldnt have the guts to do what these men did, and would most likely have been shot for cowardice. God rest every man who died at the hands of another.

  • WW1 was a waste and a pointless war. Many leaders have a lot to answer for. Millions of young boys died so what? Leaders could gain more land? Show off how powerful their militarized nations where? I for one wish the USA never got involved in WW1 but stayed out of it.

  • @ffffman Your comment is now false. They are all dead.

  • There is only 1 left, I believe she was a nurse. I don't know if that should qualify as a veteran.

  • @wilson4870 Partly true, there are 2 remaining but they never really fought in the war.

  • @ffffman Fucking reatard, The last britisah veteran died in 2007, his name was harry patch
