June 28 was a hectic day for Boije Ovebrink at Hultsfred Airport in Sweden.
That's when he and the team from Volvo along with their partners set no fewer than three unofficial records with Mean Green, a converted Volvo VN featuring the very latest hybrid technology from Volvo Trucks. This is the first time these speed records have been set with a hybrid truck.
The records:
• Standing 500 metre: 115,147 km/h
• Standing 1000 metre: 152,252 km/h (with a max speed of 250 km/h)
• Flying kilometre: 221,706 km/h (Swedish reocord)
