Whether we think of governments or individuals, either can be attracted to situations and circumstances like a magnet attracts iron filings. It all boils down to this, what we are attracted to may be lawful but is it profitable? What's your magnet?

  • I think (and have always thought) the United States "magnet" should be science. We should concentrate on ways to help each other live longer... The fact that we, (the USA) instead choose to focus on monetary issues, drives me nuts!

If the world is to survive the inevitable destruction the future has to offer, we must first choose to realize that we are, all of us, connected.

Americans, it seems, are hard at noticing this.

  • @jaoriprilj I am constantly concerned about the lack of knowledge that Americans in general appear to have about the world and countries in them. I rememeber on a gisit being shocked by Neanderthal attitudes expressed over a central American country, "I don't why we don't just nuke 'em!" With attitudes like that no wonder wherever I travel love for the USA doesn't seem to be at the top of people's agenda. It's such a shame because I know and have met many great Americans who are full of wisdom.

  • We christians in the USA are having to

pickie-choosie our TV shows carefully. Most of the stuff is GARAGE. I love your GREEHOUSE/GARDENROOM. Hope you made it thru the flooding without much damage. Alan in Alabama,USA

  • @allalan Thanks for your concern but this time the flooding was in the North West of England and I live in the South we had a lot of rain but are OK.

  • Always enjoy your talks! You give me something to think about. I agree with you in regards to the 'big black hole' what a mess! I am really concerned with the direction that our administration is taking us this is not the 'change and hope' that most people were expecting. I had my misgivings before the election and now they are real. Sending my happy thoughts through the looking-glass.

  • When I was at Diabetes camp, my instructor read, each night, from a book called 'The Magicians Nephew', by C.S. Lewis Most of the time, after a few minutes, something odd happened. Instead of actually hearing what was being said, I began to actually see and hear what was being described in the book. It produced an extraordinary, mystical feeling. And the more I tried to recapture it, the more it slipped away. However, along with that, I also developed a love of imagination, continues to this day
