Marvel's Miles Morales is the new Spider-Man while Batman has a new partner in Africa, Batwing! Host Grace Randolph and guest Alan Kistler discuss how Miles Morales and Batwing are literally changing the face of comics! Why have Miles Morales as Spider-Man and Batwing succeeded while Mr Terrific and Static Shock were canceled? And how do they stand out from Marvel and DC Comics previous black characters? Plus who do you prefer, Miles Morales as Spider-Man or Batwing? Think About The Ink is presented by Bleeding Cool.

  • I discovered this great channel only today and I have to say... kudos to you :) I haven't had the chance to read any of the DC comics, is there any way to read them online or something like that?

  • @Yaminho99 Welcome! And yes, all of DC Comics are available online - I suggest going to their website to learn more. You can also visit Comixology.

  • @Yaminho99 yes Marvel .com or DC comics.com

  • A slick animated series and merchandising for these characters would be refreshing

  • Batwing isn't batman he's his own hero just like knightwing.

  • @kiddynamo41 do it. And that goes on both ways, minority writers and white writers. And that feels insulting. In new avengers i would see dialogue between peter and luke cage and relate to peter, cause he's like me. a geeky guy with a sense of responsibility, socially awkward and even as a super hero doesn't really fit with anyone. color doesn't matter. is the point of this long winded post. it's a cool thing, but it's not that important.

  • I haven't read either of these books, mostly cause i can't bring myself to read a spider-man that's not peter. But speaking from a minority perspective (hispanic), i've never been concerned with the color of a hero. It's never been an issue to me. the issue is do i like this character? Can i relate to this character? And i think, and i'm not saying these books do this cause again i haven't read them and i'm sure they're fine, but i feel like sometimes they'll stick a minority in a mask just to

  • lmao 0:13 bitch what u say?!

  • I couldn't give a lesser fuck about the skin color of my comic book heroes, as long they are witty and kick ass.

  • Static could've been salvaged with a better writer & artist. Mr Terrific sucked. No salvaging that one.

Love Batwing. It's one of my favorite Batbooks, and I grab all of those buy Red Hood now.

Ultimate Spidey is actually the only Marvel book that I still read. I hate, hate, HATE the 20 pages for $3.99 bullshit that Marvel pulls now, and the fact that it takes 5 minutes to read it, but Bendis can write the shit outta Spidey, and has since the original USM. (Wish Amazing was this good.)
