Here is something obscure. From the very short lived "GCW Superstars" experiment based out of Chattanooga, TN, Jim Cornette's Dynasty (Jerry Novak and The Angel) take on The Stray Cat (Ken Wayne) and Pat Rose. This was Jim Cornette's first real stable in wrestling. After the match, Cornette hypes a Coal Miner's Glove match for that evening against The Fabulous Ones.
This aired on July 30th, 1983.
@salanh I have that on videotape. Don't know how to put it on YT.

@Markworth I agree! In my opinion, one of the BEST "talkers" in the business! Can't forget him and the Midnight Express!

Cornette is incredible.

The cake incident was a staple for Cornette and the MX (they did it in Mid-South and in WCCW or WCW, IIRC.)

Pat Rose is one of wrestling's real good guy stories. You hear so much bad about pro wrestlers but Pat, to this day, is a great guy. He is now a pro fisherman.

The Angel was The French Angel for a long time. This group of wrestlers were replacements and were sent to the arena's in Georgia in 1983 as WCW was expanding into other states like West Virginia, Ohio, and Michigan. Bill Dundee was over this troup of wrestlers. Terry Taylor & Bobby Fulton debuted as The Fantastics. They threw a cake in Jim's face on one episode, which made Ole Anderson furious. He soon pulled the plug on this program. Any more footage of this show?

Pat Rose was one of the best workers. He could make anyone look good.

Too bad Ken Wayne didn't pull out "Stray Cat" when he was in Continental.
