  • ugliest single backhand ever....

  • @duhherro1 it's called a one handed backhand noob

  • no no no no no wrist movement is only used in the sport of racquetball tennis strokes use you body. and the racquet is neither closed nor open - open hits towards the sky closed towards the ground- to provide topspin your follow though in a upwards motion aka low to high point of impact low racquet ends up at shoulder

  • you do want to make impact flat and then, come up and through the ball letting it brush off your racquet

  • Hi I am newbie but your backhands looked like flat shots without topspin .

  • Very poor backhand! No fluidity in the stroke - very stiff & mechanical. Professional players allow their elbows to bend on the take-back so that they gain proper momentum with a downward loop swing. This has been noted on Youtube clips of pro players. The hitter in the video is hitting flat - no topspin! The giveaway here is the racquet face angle at contact ~ it's open! For topspin the racquet face should be vertical/closed brushing up the back of the ball.

  • The follow through of the racket is creating this topspin on the ball. Regardless of his racket face he still gets the necessary topspin. I don't understand how people cant see that topspin is being generated...

  • looks like a semi slice shot , very bad example

  • Snap is kind of a misnomer. McEnroe describes it as "flick." I say it's more like a pronation of the wrist, though it is more pronounce in the backhand than in the forehand.

  • good tip on the message on the back thing

  • First. Your knees are stiff AGAIN! LOL

Second, use more your upper body and hips. You have to show all your back to your target. Of course, for a quick swing, your swing is correct, but if you have time, try that: Pretend to have a message writen on your back and show it to your opponent.

If Federer wasn't enough solid on his legs, he'd knocks himself back because of the rotation.

I know your against a wall, but do perfect motions as much as you can make it so when you give demos.

  • isn't a vertical racquet face--open? AS I SAID earlier, yes yes, it looks flat, but on the court, when I play, it has topspin. watch my video where I play. there's topspin on my ball. impact is square, the follow through dictates the spin. yes, against the wall here, it looks flat, because of the angle, the range from the wall, but on a tennis court in reality, it's a topspin shot. look at the video of my playing. I know what happens when I play--that's what I have been saying prior also.
