  • Why can't people just listen to music without digging up old skeltons out of someone's closet. It isn't 1989 anymore. The man has changed and is back making great music again for people to enjoy. There is nothing condemning, violent or evil in these new songs. People make mistakes & some forgive and others hold on to hate & never forgive. Time to move on. Are you still hung up on what Lennon said about Jesus in 1965? What a waste of energy.

  • Maybe you should listen to the actually listen to the lyrics of the man you are condemning - in a world filled with hate

Salman Rushdie is a distasteful human being however vigilantism has no bearing in the religion of Islam God created him and he will be answerable to Him WE in the West do not hold anything sacred The concept of who and anything being free game in the guise of freedom of speech is just wrong

Yusuf Islam is a beautiful human being a man who is very essence is about peace

  • @Andrew1345 The value I place on life? Oh please. The fatwa (which, I might add, Yusuf had nothing to do with) was issued in Feb 1989. That's over 23 years, and Rushdie is alive, and did not suffer a "brutal death" After 23 years, I think he's safe. I'll repeat my earlier comment, your own persistence in dragging up decades-old issues is unhealthy and disturbing. But you're entitled to your opinion, however stupid it may be.

  • @AndrewP222 - the fact that you think holding someone accountable for calling for the brutal death of an innocent person is "more disturbing" than the actual call to kill said innocent speaks volumes about your sense of justice and the value you place on life. To you, his music is more important. To me, Rushdie's life is more important. As I said, when he apologizes directly to Rushdie (to his face) like a man, then I will accept his sincerity. Until then, he has proven nothing.

  • @tigersforchrist You know nothing of Islam! It's evident in your "reasons" for hating it so much. Love thy brother, it is not for you to judge him.

  • Why have you been depriving us of your awesomeness for all these 30 years?!

  • This man is one of greatest entertainers of our time. After all these years Cat your music still touches my soul.

  • @piccolo8344 if his means are to stop satanic action by the reader, then yes ( a book can powerfully motivate and through that violence can lead) the author should be killed...
