The only places this version of Deep Purple was "big" in 1991, was Germany , South America and Japan, and behind the former Iron Curtain contries at the time. In Japan, people are only there for the show, it's the big thing, coming to town you know. The US tour was cut short, and Turner took a lot of heat from the hardcore fans in the audience on that leg because he butchered the classics. In South America fans were just "starved" of the lack of bands visiting.

No, Turner...you're not a hardrock singer. At least Coverdale had the balls to sing "THEY all came down..." Way more appropriate.

Turner is crap compared to Gillan/Coverdale/Evans, that's a fact. They are hardrock and blues singers, while Turner is a mediocre AOR pub singer compared to them.
