@SadRobotz You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The story of a game, should be shown, or played. if you have played silent hill 2 you know exactly what i am talking about. Mind you, i don't think MGS4 is a bad game, the story and the gameplay is just locked away in different rooms, instead of being one. Again, if you have play games like Limbo which tells it's decent story with the art design and bleak atmosphere.

@DontBeShai I didn't think of those games when i made the comment. I know fully well, what the story is about, i just think that the story is better off shown, than told, in cutscenes.

@TheQoler Please stop trolling, just cause you can't fully comprehend everything that's happening or have ADD you wanna skip a few cutscenes. Go play God of war or GTA or whatever your average button mash gamers play.

Metal Gear Solid, as a series, is a work of art. The writing doesn't exist to compliment the gameplay. Vice versa. Not all games are like this - go play those ones.
Metal Gear solid isn't about kicking ass, or silently choking people from behind. It's about the grit of war, the evil of politics, the emotions that go beyond romantic love, true patriotism, and duty. It's about doing what's right when no-one will ever hear about it.

Wrong. This game is as good as some people make it out to be. It's for those who grew up with it. Making this part of their childhood. One can not simply play a video game and think it's complete boss. You have to have some sort of story behind it. To grow with it will make it memorable.
