Here are some basic chord changes available in position 3, G major. You need to elaborate on this lesson by learning to move them up and down the fingerboard. Do you understand that the distance from G to E minor is EXACTLY the same as from A to F# minor?
The 1 chord to the 6 chord. The distance from one NOTE to the next is called an INTERVAL. Intervals in different combinations give us specific chord forms. This is a start for the beginner...theres a LOT more coming and will be avaiable from me on DVD very soon. Feel free to email me at captmickey@cox.net for details. Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks so much for making these videos! I am a non-pedal player saving up for my first pedal steel and I still watch your videos because they are so interesting!! Thanks Mickey.

  • Snake - with the bar on 3rd fret, engaging BC pedals does the following:

    string 4 - G --> A

    string 5 - D --> E

    string 6 - B --> C

    A, E,C = Am

  • Hey Mickey, thanks for all your great lessons.

    Quick question, towards the end you say, strings 4,5,6 w/ B&C pedals = A minor, wouldn't that be a D minor?

  • i hope to be able to order it someday. things are pretty tight right now. i do appreciate the help and i like your videos. my dad passed away and i got his steel and equipment so im trying to learn it. thanks again.
