Episode 12 The Story Behind 1/7
Settings: Lovato residence; Wednesday; December 3, 2008
Demi's POV
Had I been dreaming the whole time? Was that just a product of my insane imagination? I couldnt help it, but that moment was the perfect moment at the perfect time. I didn't think it was an accident, or just my imagination. His touch felt so real, those warm arms around me felt so true. His sweet breath embraced my face as his perfect brown eyes spoke to me how wonderful person I am and how much my life means to him. That was the first time I felt so entirely whole.
Joe... Joseph Adam Jonas...
We're official now.
Finally.
It has been days since that special moment happened. I felt my lips slowly curving into a huge smile. A very overjoyed and contented smile.
I uncovered my face with my dark-colored blanket and stretched out my hands and legs. The huge grin was still worn by my smug face. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath as I let my body lay still on my bed. The scent of my room hadn't been this savory before. I took another deep breath, trying to focus. The scent gave my mind an instant comforting, free massage. It was absolutely relaxing the way it was.
I slowly opened my eyes. For a second, the bright sunlight embraced them. I got up and jumped out of bed enthusiastically. I could even imagine how smug I look at the moment. I ran into my bathroom and took a warm bath. After that I brushed my teeth and immediately dressed myself--Just with some of my simple clothes in the closet that I could wear for the entire day. I didn't have a sched by the way, this day was my free day. Why need to dress glamorously? A simple loose T-shirt, skinny jeans and black snickers would make my meatloaf Wednesday a blast!
And of course, the day wouldn't be perfect without my only bestfriend, Selena. We'd been enjoying our Wednesdays with each other, and with our favorites--pickles, meatloafs and horror movies. At first, it was only the two of us celebrating this so-called meatloaf Wednesday, we're kinda used in flying solo. But after a lot of people took notice, they'd been joining us often. It was funny to see those people every Wednesday just for meatloafs. But the sure thing was, I felt myself everytime I had to hang out with them. It was so real, like everything was nothing but ordinary. Just being with my ordinary teenage life.
I paced out of my room and ran downstairs. I took my blackberry out of my pocket and dialed Selena's number.
"Hello? Who's this?" The voice from the other line sounded a little drowsy. Great! She was still on her bed.
"Oh common! Get up already, dork!" I laughed, sitting on the couch in our living room. "Its Wednesday, remember?"
I heard her soft giggle. "Im so exhausted."
"Hey.."--as I pouted--"Dont tell me, you're planning to miss today's event?" I took the remote control and turned on the TV.
"Ofcourse not, Dem." She laughed. "I wont miss the meatloafs. And please don't forget the pickles."
"Good girl."--I grinned sheepishly as a new idea came to my head, not completely focusing on what channel the TV showed--"Selena, a lot has happened this past week, and you totally missed them. Im only going to tell the details if you're.. already here in an hour."
"Hey!"--Her voice sounded alert now--"That's unfair."
"Great, now you're awake!" I laughed. I could absolutely tell that she was already jumping out of her bed by this second.
"Are you serious?"
"Totally." I giggled. "You're the first one to hear this. Come here already!"
"Fine."--guessing that she had rolled her eyes--"I'll be there."
"Cool!" I beamed out loud. Louder than the volume of our TV. "by the way,"--calming myself down--"I miss my bestfriend."
"Awww." She giggled. "Miss you too, Dem. I need to take a bath. I'll see you in a few, Okay?"
"Sure! See ya!" I hang up.
I placed my phone on the table infront of me and leaned back.
"Hey there, Mrs. Joe Jonas." The solemn but teasing voice of someone startled me. Mainly because of hearing her voice all of a sudden, plus the fact that her sentence included those words--'Mrs. Joe Jonas.'
I turned my head anxiously to the voice's direction and saw her walking downstairs. I wrinkled my forehead. "Shut up, Dallas."--I hissed--"Mom might hear you."
My older sister walked passed me and sat down on one of the couches across mine. "You need to tell her."
"Not now." I gritted my teeth.
"You're gonna tell her anyway." She rolled her eyes, laughing.
I groaned. "He's not my husband. Im not 'Mrs. Joe Jonas', and--.."
"Just soon-to-be." She interrupted me with her fake coughs, smiling smugly.
"Not that 'Soon'." I felt some goosebumps. I hadn't been planning of leaving my youth life yet.
